Coating & Paint Protection Services

What is a Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating is a premium, long-term paint protection layer designed for coastal climates like Myrtle Beach. Unlike wax or sealants, it cures into a rock-hard shell that resists swirls, minor scratches, UV damage, acid rain, bird droppings, and road contaminants—all while delivering unbeatable hydrophobic (water-beading) and self-cleaning properties.

Our Process

  1. Full Decontamination Wash
Hand wash + iron-fallout remover + clay-bar treatment to strip away bonded contaminants.

  2. Paint Correction (one or two steps)
Remove light swirls/scratches and imperfections in the paint for adhesion and clarity.

  3. Precision Ceramic Application
    Hand-applied in for flawless coverage.

  4. Curing & Final Inspection
Allow the coating to bond fully, then inspect every panel to guarantee lasting protection.

At Dunes Detailing Services here in Myrtle Beach, we offer three distinct tiers of ceramic coatings to protect your vehicle's paint, ensuring it looks its best for years to come. Our first coating option provides durable protection lasting between 3-5 years, ideal for maintaining your vehicle's shine and defending against daily wear. Stepping up, our second tier offers enhanced longevity and gloss, typically lasting from 6-7 years. For the ultimate in paint protection and a lasting showroom finish, our premium coating delivers exceptional durability for 9-10 years. Beyond the paint, we also offer a specialized 2-3 year wheel coating to protect your rims from brake dust and road grime, keeping them cleaner for longer. To optimize both the appearance and performance of any coating, especially if your vehicle doesn't have existing paint protection film, we highly recommend a one-step or two-step paint correction beforehand. This crucial process refines your vehicle's finish, preparing it perfectly for the coating application. While specific quotes are provided after a personalized assessment of your vehicle, our ceramic coating services generally range from $800-$1500.
